When Will Pi Mining End and What Does It Mean for Pi Users?

A central question for many in the Pi ecosystem is when will Pi mining end and how that affects holdings and future participation. The Pi Network’s original mobile mining phase ended on March 14, 2025, at 08:00 UTC, marking a key transition point where simple daily mining via the app was disabled worldwide. After this date, users could no longer earn Pi coins by tapping the mining button as they did during the Grace Period.

Before this cutoff, Pi Network implemented a series of deadlines for completing KYC (Know Your Customer) identity verification and Mainnet migration. Users who did not meet these requirements by the final deadline risked losing most of their mined Pi, retaining only balances mined within the six months prior to migration eligibility.

Technically speaking, although daily mobile mining has stopped, when will Pi mining end in terms of total token issuance remains a broader question. Pi Network’s design includes a capped total supply of tokens, and mining rewards could theoretically continue in different forms (such as node operation or ecosystem participation) until network milestones are met.

Beyond simple mining, the network now focuses on fully transitioning to open Mainnet operations. Protocol upgrades and mechanisms like Fast Track KYC highlight preparation for longer-term utility rather than reward generation.

In summary, when will Pi mining end in its mobile reward form has already occurred with the Grace Period’s expiration in March 2025. Going forward, earning Pi depends on Mainnet participation, ecosystem contribution, and compliance with network verification processes.
