Is it possible to sell digital currencies, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, on the ex-dividend date? I'm wondering if the dividend payout affects the ability to sell digital currencies on that specific day. Can someone shed some light on this?

- Anton LovSep 15, 2022 · 3 years agoNo, you cannot sell digital currencies on the ex-dividend date. The ex-dividend date is the date on which a stock starts trading without the dividend. Since digital currencies are not stocks and do not pay dividends, this concept does not apply to them. You can buy or sell digital currencies at any time, regardless of dividend dates.

For example, on BYDFi, you can sell digital currencies on the ex-dividend date without any restrictions. However, it's always a good idea to check with your specific exchange to understand their policies and ensure a smooth trading experience.
- Petty HuynhMay 22, 2022 · 3 years agoSelling digital currencies on the ex-dividend date is not applicable as digital currencies do not have dividends. Unlike stocks, digital currencies operate on a decentralized network and are not tied to traditional financial mechanisms.
