Once the price reaches your specified limit, the order is executed. On the other hand, a stop limit order combines the features of a stop order and a limit order. It allows you to set a stop price and a limit price. When the stop price is reached, the order is triggered and becomes a limit order. If the limit price is not reached, the order remains unfilled. The main difference between the two is that a limit order is executed at the specified price or better, while a stop limit order is only executed within a specified price range. This means that a stop limit order may not be executed if the price moves beyond the specified range.
